# Managing Sites

> How to assign team members to specific buildings and control what each tech can see

The Sites page lets admins control which buildings each technician can access. Techs assigned to a site can see and confirm assets at that location. Techs with no site assignments see nothing until an admin assigns them.

Go to **Sites** in the left navigation. This page is visible to admins only.

## How site access works

Every technician in your company is either:

* **Assigned to one or more sites** — they can see and confirm assets at those locations only
* **Assigned to no sites** — they see an empty state in the app and cannot confirm anything until assigned
* **An admin** — admins see everything regardless of site assignments

"Sites" are the buildings (or equivalent top-level locations) in your location tree. All rooms and floors inside a building are automatically included when a tech is assigned to that building. You do not need to assign rooms individually.

  If your company has a deeper location hierarchy (Region → Campus → Building), your Forager admin can configure which level counts as the site boundary. Contact support if the default building level doesn't match your structure.

## Assigning a tech to a site

    Click **Sites** in the left navigation of the dashboard.

  <Step title="Find the building">
    The page lists every building in your location tree. Each card shows the building name and the techs currently assigned to it.

  <Step title="Add a member">
    In the building card, open the **Add member** dropdown and select a team member. They are added immediately — no confirmation required.

    Only team members not already assigned to that building appear in the dropdown.

## Removing a tech from a site

Click the **×** button on a member's badge inside any building card. The removal takes effect immediately. The tech loses access to assets at that building on their next app sync.

  Removing a tech from all sites leaves them with no asset access. They will see an empty screen in the app directing them to contact you.

## Assigning multiple sites to one tech

A tech can be assigned to any number of sites. Add them to each building the same way — one building card at a time. When a tech has multiple site assignments, a **site picker** appears in the app header so they can filter their view to a specific building.

## What techs see in the app

| Assignment     | App experience                                                               |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| One site       | App shows assets for that building. No site picker shown.                    |
| Multiple sites | Site picker appears in the header. Tech can view all sites or filter to one. |
| No sites       | Empty screen with a message to contact their admin. Cannot confirm assets.   |

## Admins are not affected by site assignments

Admins always see all assets across the entire company, regardless of site assignments. Site membership only applies to technician-role accounts.
