The Coverage screen shows the survey quality for every room in your location hierarchy. Use it to identify rooms that need surveying before starting attestation work, and to find rooms where the fingerprint has gone stale.

Opening Coverage

From the Forager home screen, tap Coverage. Use the floor selector to switch between floors. Each room on the selected floor appears in the list with a quality indicator.

When to check Coverage

  • After any survey session — Open Coverage immediately after surveying to confirm which rooms turned green and which still need more captures before you move on.
  • Before starting attestation on a floor — Lead tech or admin verifies all rooms are Covered before the team begins scanning. Yellow rooms can produce inaccurate room attribution in attestation records.
  • Morning of a compliance inspection — A quick check to confirm every surveyed floor is fully green before auditors arrive.
  • Diagnosing wrong-room detection complaints — A tech reports the app keeps placing them in the wrong room. Coverage shows whether that room is yellow, confirming a re-survey will fix it rather than it being a device issue.
  • Planning a focused re-survey session — Admin spots a cluster of yellow rooms on one floor and schedules a tech to cover just those rooms rather than re-doing the entire building.

Room categories

Rooms are grouped into three categories based on fingerprint quality: A room cannot be used for reliable presence confirmation until it reaches Covered. Scanning in a Needs Attention or Monitor room still works, but the app may misidentify your location.

Reading a room row

Each room row shows:
  • Colored dot — quality at a glance (red = Needs Attention, yellow = Monitor, green = Covered)
  • Sample count — how many RF captures have been recorded for this room
  • AP count — number of distinct Wi-Fi access points detected during survey (higher is better)
  • Days since last survey — how recently the fingerprint was updated

List and map views

Tap the map icon in the top-right corner to switch between list view and map view. Map view overlays coverage quality on the floor plan — useful for identifying gaps visually. Map view requires a floor plan to be uploaded by your admin.

Refreshing a room

To re-survey a specific room, tap its row in the coverage list. The app navigates directly to Survey Mode for that room. Walk into the room, follow the capture steps, and return to Coverage to confirm the quality has improved. Re-survey when:
  • The room’s equipment layout or network configuration has changed
  • The app is consistently misidentifying the room
  • The sample count is low or the last survey was many months ago

Coverage by floor

Coverage is displayed per floor. A floor with all-green rooms is ready for full attestation operation. A floor with rooms in Needs Attention means some areas have no location data — techs scanning assets there may not get accurate room attribution.
Coverage reflects your most recent survey. If you have surveyed a room recently but it still shows Monitor, it may need more capture passes. Run one more capture from a different position in the room to supplement the existing fingerprint.
