The home screen is your starting point for all field work. Every function — scanning, surveying, reviewing records, and navigating to assets — is one tap away from here. Forager Dashboard — The app title, always visible at the top.

Status icons

The row of icons in the top-right corner shows the live state of your device’s radios and data connection. From left to right:
IconNameWhat it means
Gold pinLocationGPS is active. Solid gold means a location fix is confirmed.
Bluetooth symbolBluetoothThe BLE radio is on and scanning for nearby signals.
Circular targetRF ScannerThe app is actively reading Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals to determine your room.
Up/down arrowsSyncData is syncing to the Forager server. Animated when a sync is in progress.
CloudUploadAttestation records are queued or uploading. Clears once all records are sent.
Initials circleYour profileTap to view your account, switch roles, or sign out.
All icons should be active before you begin scanning assets. If Bluetooth or Location appears inactive, check that both are enabled in your phone’s Settings.

Site picker

If your admin has assigned you to more than one building, a site chip appears below the header. It shows the currently active site — tap it to open a dropdown and switch to a different building or select All Sites to see everything across all your locations at once. When a site is selected the chip appears highlighted. Your selection is saved and restored the next time you open the app. If you have only one site assignment, the site picker does not appear — your view is automatically scoped to that building.
If you open the app and see “No sites assigned”, your admin has not yet assigned you to any buildings. Contact your Forager admin to request access. You cannot confirm assets until at least one site is assigned to you.

Location indicator

A pill below the site picker shows your current detected location. It updates as the app reads RF signals from your surroundings:
StateWhat it means
Room name · Floor NRoom locked in — ready to scan
Floor N · locating room…Floor identified, still narrowing down the room
(not visible)No floor or room detected yet — check radios
Wait until a specific room name appears before scanning assets. Location accuracy improves once the room is confirmed.
If the indicator stays on “locating room…” for more than 30 seconds, check that both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled. The app needs both radios to determine your room.

Notice banner

Hiverise Labs may occasionally post an operational notice that appears as a banner below the location pill. Notices are used to communicate scheduled maintenance windows, new app versions, or important service updates. When a notice is active for your organization, the banner appears automatically. You do not need to do anything — it shows as soon as you open the app or return to it from the background.

Severity levels

The left-edge stripe and icon indicate the type of notice:
ColorSeverityWhat it means
BlueInfoGeneral update or announcement — no action required
AmberWarningSomething needs your attention soon — read the message carefully
RedErrorAn active issue may affect your work — follow any instructions in the message

Dismissing a notice

Tap the × button on the right side of the banner to dismiss it. The banner will not reappear for that specific notice, even after you restart the app. If Hiverise Labs posts a new notice, it will appear fresh regardless of whether you dismissed a previous one.

Quick Actions

The Quick Actions grid gives you one-tap access to every field function.

Survey Mode

Captures RF signal fingerprints for a room. Used during initial setup and any time a room’s physical environment changes significantly — new walls, major furniture rearrangement, or access point changes. Select your floor and room, then tap Capture. Hold still for about 30 seconds while the app records signals. Repeat for each room on the floor.

Survey Mode

Full guide: running a survey, how many captures to take, and when to re-survey.

Coverage

Shows a color-coded view of how thoroughly each room has been surveyed:
ColorMeaning
GreenWell surveyed — ready for attestation
YellowThin coverage — consider re-surveying
GrayNot yet surveyed
Check Coverage after a survey session to confirm all rooms are green before starting attestation work.

Coverage

Full guide: reading the coverage map and improving thin rooms.

Presence Confirmation

The main daily workflow. Opens active scanning mode where the app detects your current room and records an attestation each time you scan an asset barcode. The app compares the asset’s recorded location to the room you are standing in and marks it as confirmed or flagged. This is where field techs spend most of their time.

Scanning Assets

Full guide: the attestation workflow, handling mismatches, and tips for accurate scans.

Attestation Log

A history of every asset scan you have recorded. Each entry shows the asset tag, room, timestamp, and whether it was a match or a mismatch. Use this to review your work, verify a specific scan was recorded, or investigate a flagged discrepancy before reporting it.

Attestation Log

Full guide: filtering the log, understanding match and mismatch records.

Signal Diagnostic

A real-time view of the raw Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals the app is detecting. Useful for troubleshooting room detection issues or verifying the radio environment is healthy before a survey. Can export a signal snapshot as a file — used when contacting support about a location accuracy problem.

Signal Diagnostic

Full guide: reading the diagnostic view and exporting a snapshot for support.

Find Device

Navigates you to an asset’s last confirmed location. Enter or scan an asset tag and the app shows the floor plan with the asset’s last known room highlighted. The indicator updates as you move through the building. Use this when a device cannot be found in its expected location.

Device Hunt

Full guide: starting a device hunt, reading the floor plan, and what to do if the asset is not there.

Most Wanted

A prioritized queue of assets that need confirmation, ranked by how long they have been unseen. Tap any card to go directly to scanning mode for that asset. The queue also has a Leaderboard tab showing how your team ranks by confirmation points. When an admin has an active sprint running, the Most Wanted card turns orange as a visual cue that a competition is in progress.

Most Wanted

Full guide: point tiers, the queue, the leaderboard, and sprint competitions.

Sprint banner

When your admin has an active sprint running, an orange banner appears below the Quick Actions grid. It shows:
ElementWhat it means
Sprint nameThe name your admin gave this competition window
CountdownHow much time is left in the sprint
My ScoreYour total points earned so far this sprint
RankYour current position on the sprint leaderboard
Tap View Queue to open the Most Wanted queue and start earning points.

Leaderboard preview

Below the sprint banner (or in its place when no sprint is active), a top-3 leaderboard shows the leading techs for the current month. Tap See all to open the full leaderboard in Most Wanted.
The footer is always visible at the bottom of the screen: Help & Docs — Opens the Forager documentation site in your browser. Contact Support — Composes an email to the Hiverise Labs support team. App version — The installed version number, useful when contacting support.
